It is never easy to lose a loved one forever, and many people have lost friends and family members as a result of the ongoing pandemic. We are currently in the third wave, and with cases in Mumbai reaching 20,000 a day, news of some or all Bollywood celebrities testing positive for the virus is circulating. Vishal Dadlani, too, recently tested positive for COVID-19, and in a tragic turn of events, he lost his father Moti Dadlani on Friday.
Vishal Dadlani mourns the death of his father
Singer and composer Vishal Dadlani shared a photo of his father on Instagram with the message, “Shri Moti Dadlani” (12 May 1943 -8 Jan 2022). Last night, I lost my dearest friend, the nicest and kindest man on the planet. I couldn’t have asked for a greater Father or for someone to be my life’s instructor. Anything nice in me is but a sliver of him. He’d been in ICU for the last 3/4 days (due to a botched gall bladder surgery). But I couldn’t visit him after I tested positive for Covid yesterday. I can’t even go comfort my Mother in her hour of need. It’s not even close to being equitable. My sister, thankfully, is handling everything with far more strength than I could muster. I’m not sure how I’d manage in a world without him. I’m befuddled.”
Vishal announced his Covid-19 diagnosis on Instagram on Friday, along with a photo of his test kit. “This is for everybody who has contacted me in the last week or ten days. Unfortunately, despite all precautions, I tested positive for Covid,” he wrote.
“I have never encountered anyone without a mask on. Save during weekly shoots (where all testing processes were followed to the best of my knowledge). So far as I’m aware, I haven’t touched anything that hasn’t been sanitized. My symptoms aren’t severe, yet they’re nonetheless bothersome. Please be cautious,” he said.
