The rumor mills were humming with rumors that Munmun Dutta, who plays Babita Ji in the popular show Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, was leaving the show due to a scandal surrounding her. The actress has not been seen in the previous few episodes of the show, leading to speculation that she is leaving following a successful tenure.
Munmun Dutta aka Babita Ji to Stay in the show
According to a report in the Times of India, the makers of the show have stated that she would not be leaving the show anytime soon. Munmun is very much a part of the show,” said the producers in a statement.
Producers of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, Neela Film Productions Pvt. Ltd, owned by Asit Kumar Modi, confirmed that Munmun is not leaving the show. “Munmun Dutta as Babita Ji continues to be a part of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. Any reports that she is leaving the program are false and unfounded,” they stated.
According to sources, the producers did not add a fresh narrative involving Munmun’s character. Which is why she has been absent from the program for the previous several episodes. Munmun has been a staple of the program since the beginning, and his outstanding performances have earned him a particular place in the hearts of the crowd.
Munmun plays the intriguing character of a Bengali woman who is married to Mr. Iyer, a South Indian husband. During the second wave of Maharashtra’s lockdown, all filming in Mumbai came to a standstill. Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’s cast and crew agreed to film a few episodes in Vapi. The filming is now taking place in Mumbai.
