Television News | Two actresses from Savdhaan India, Crime Patrol, and other crime-related shows on various channels were detained by the Mumbai Police for suspected theft of a significant sum of money in a horrific event.
Two performers who had appeared in crime-themed television series were detained in a theft case on Friday, according to the police. According to the authorities, both performers, were experiencing financial hardship owing to a lack of employment. They had recently relocated to a building in Aarey Colony’s Royal Palm neighborhood, which was managed by one of their friends as a paying guest.
Surabhi Shrivastav, 25, and Mohsina Shaikh, 19, are the two actors who have been arrested in connection with the theft of Rs 3.28 lakh from a paying guest’s locker in the Goregaon east neighborhood of north-west Mumbai.
The two suspects had gone to a friend’s house in a luxury building in Aarey Colony’s Royal Palms neighborhood. They were staying as paying guests. They reportedly took cash from the locker of another lady living there as a PG while staying there as paying guests. The duo then fled the scene.
According to a police officer, the victim filed a report with the Aarey Police Station after her loss. The matter was than investigated. The women were seen decamping from the premises while the cops were examining the society’s CCTV footage. They were apprehended and, after a lengthy interrogation, acknowledged the crime.
According to authorities, the two female actors were in financial distress as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic shutdown. This has wreaked havoc on the entertainment business. “Apart from renowned TV programmes like Crime Patrol and Savdhaan India, the actresses have also participated in various online series,” said Nutan Power of Aarey Police Station.
They were apprehended by the police and were found to be in possession of Rs 50,000. Both of them were brought before the court. According to the police, the court has ordered both of them to be held in police custody until June 23.
