Anupamaa has been topping the TRP charts for long now. The viewers are enjoying watching the middle-aged woman ruling her life. The show has changed a lot over time. Earlier, the lead role of Anupamaa was shown to be submissive, fearful and docile. However, her husband’s infidelity makes her take charge of her own life and live it on her own terms. Currently she has embarked on a new journey where she is living for herself and is learning new things from her kids. She does not fear her husband Vanraj anymore and also makes him realise his mistakes. The lead actors Rupali Ganguly and Sudhanshu Pandey have done exceptionally well and their hard work is clearly visible. Now in a recent interview the show’s producer Rajan Shahi shared that people told him Anupamaa would be a big flop.
Anupamaa Producer Rajan Shahi Shares People Told him the Show Would be A Big Flop:
In an interview to Telly Chakkar, Rajan shared that he does feel pressured to sustain in the top position each time. He also admitted that television has always been about number games. As per him, if people say that numbers don’t matter then they are fooling themselves. Rightly so as the livelihood and survival depends on these numbers.
He also shared an insightful thought that good TRP ratings boosts the morale of the entire team and hence are very important. He added, “Having said that, being a part of the industry for so many years not only as a producer but also as a director, you may witness highs and lows but I have always told stories which organically want to be said.”
Rajan Shahi said that the biggest question was would the audience want to watch a show which talks about a housewife who is middle-aged mother. He said, “99 percent of the people told me that I will go for a flop. I was suggested that nobody would be interested to watch a middle-aged housewife and the turmoils of a mother but that is when the conviction comes.”
