With his upcoming movie “Pathaan,” Shah Rukh Khan is getting ready to return to the big screen. After 10 adjustments were made to the CBFC’s recommendations, “Pathaan” was given a UA certificate by the Central Board of Film Certification.
There are no longer any close-up shots of star actress Deepika Padukone, and certain linguistic changes have been made. Along with Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone and John Abraham appear in the Siddharth Anand-directed film Pathaan.
The controversial song Besharam Rang has been changed, among other things, to remove close-up views of buttocks, side poses, and seductive dance movements during the lines Bahut Tang Kiya.
Details of the 10 changes suggested by the CBFC that have been added to Pathaan’s final version for theatrical release were made public. The article claims that the certificate is silent on whether or not the saffron clothing, which has been the subject of discussions and protests against the film, was changed or removed.
“RAW” was replaced with “Hamare,” and “Langde Lulle” was substituted for “Toote Foote.” The terms “PMO” and “PM” were changed to “President” or “Minister,” respectively, in 13 different places. The words “Mrs. Bharatmata” and “Ashok Chakra” were changed to “Veer Puraskar” and “Hamari Bharatmata,” respectively.
Meanwhile, protesters tore down Pathaan posters in Ahmedabad. According to a video shared on Twitter by the Bajrang Dal Gujarat, protesters could be seen tearing up posters and even giant cutouts of Pathaan’s actors while shouting protest slogans. Bajrang Dal members caused a ruckus at the Alpha One mall in Vastrapur, Ahmedabad, where the event took place.
The movie is scheduled to premiere on January 25, 2023, in theaters.
