The actress sports two looks for the song, one is a white angelic one full of innocence, while the other is a black one depicting anger and bitterness post a heartbreak. Director Rajit Dev says that the black outfit for the second look is inspired by Natalie Portman’s “Black Swan”, but not the concept. The female version of Pachtaoge has taken a lot of inspiration from international videos. Read how the concept of Pachtaoge is copied from Zayn Malik and Beyonce

“The black outfit is inspired by ‘Black Swan’ but not the concept of the video,” he said. Rajit started his career as a dancer when he was 17 and featured as a backup dancer in Hrithik Roshan’s “Main aisa kyu hun“. He was also seen in Ganesh Hegde’s “Main deewana“, post which he participated in the dance reality show “Just Dance” and made it to the top four. He has even assisted choreographer Vaibhavi Merchant for eight years and has also participated in “Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa” with celebrity contestants Pooja Bose, Kavita Kaushik, and Karishma Tanna. He has choreographed for films like “Meri Pyaari Bindu”, “Jai Gangaajal” and “Lipstick Under My Burka”.

He even choreographed Ranveer Singh’s commercial for Jack & Jones and is also associated with the actor’s music label IncInk where he choreographs songs under the banner. However, the female “Pachtaoge” is the first time he has donned the director’s hat and has choreographed it as well.

The original song was released last year and featured Vicky Kaushal and Nora Fatehi. It was about a lover cheating on his partner. The new video has a very international feel to it and is depicted through emotions. It is the story of a girl who had given it all to a relationship but faces betrayal in the end. It begins with Nora donning a white outfit which symbolizes purity and innocence. With which she started her relationship, but once she faces betrayals, anger, hatred, and disappointment overpower love.

The choreographer-director said that every emotion she showcases has a meaning, and added. “I wanted Nora to keep the expressions very subtle and all in the eyes. I chose a contemporary dance form to show the emotions through her body. Every frame in the song has an emotion. She did rehearse for four days before the shoot. Nora is very hardworking and shines bright every time she dances. She has been supportive of my talent and it’s always a pleasure to work with her.” Have you seen Nora’s beautiful depiction of love, betrayal, and hatred yet in the female version of Pachtaoge?
