Sushant Singh Rajput’s death by suicide has shocked the nation. The country is upset due to the prevalent nepotism in Bollywood and as per reports, Mumbai Police is thoroughly investigating the case. According to the allegations, professional rivalry may have led to his death, besides clinical depression. Kangana Ranaut, while in Manali, had even reached out to the police to show co-operation to record her statement.

Anil Deshmukh, Maharashtra Home Minister, said on Sunday that statement from Filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt will  be recorded in a day or two. The minister also said, “Summons have also been sent to actor Kangana Ranaut, asking her to record her statement.” To this she has replied that she cannot travel from Manali to Mumbai due to the Covid-19 crisis. She has asked the police if it is possible for them to send an officer to record the statement in her Manali residence. She has also given alternatives to the police like, if she could respond to the queries after they are sent to her and also if she could connect via some electronic device to give the statement.

After Sushant’s death, Ranaut took to social media to express her rage towards nepotism and said Sushant was a victim of the same.

Deshmukh said that statements from 37 people in connection with the case have been recorded.
