Madhur Bhandarkar speaks about shocking connections between movie ‘Heroine’ & Sushant’s demise

The famous filmmaker, Madhur Bhandarkar, who has depicted real life stories of the glamour world in his movies has opened up about Sushant’s demise. The Kai Po Che actor’s untimely death has left people aghast. ETimes approached the filmmaker and in an exclusive interview he shared how the people around him can relate the story of his movie ‘Heroine’ with Sushant’s demise.

Madhur Bhandarkar in an interview:

The ‘Fashion’ movie-maker was asked about his stand in the content versus star power debate. Madhur replied to the same by saying that when a star has to be included in a movie, naturally the budget goes high. If there’s a newcomer, the budget is not that hiked up. ETimes quoted him as, “I have worked with stars and newcomers both. It has been my thing for a long time. When I made ‘Chandni Bar’, I chose Tabu and Atul Kulkarni who was a newcomer at that time. I also cast Ananya Khare who was a new actress at that time. She won a National Award for ‘Chandni Bar’. I introduced Mugdha Godse and Arjun Bajwa in ‘Fashion’. I feel the content is main. Of course, the star value will always be there. When you get a star, you get a budget also. When I made a film like, ‘Heroine’ with Kareena Kapoor Khan, you have to have that sort of budget also.”

‘Heroine’ movie’s story seems true after Sushant’s demise:

Madhur further went on to say that many people are able to relate the storyline of the movie ‘Heroine’ with Sushant’s demise. The filmmaker also said that people from film fraternity were very upset with him because of so much of reality shown in the movie. He said, “After Sushant Singh Rajput’s untimely demise, people on social media are telling me whatever I had shown in the movie ‘Heroine’ is true.”
