Actress Huma Qureshi claimed that the plot of her new movie, “Double XL,” which she is collaborating on with Sonakshi Sinha, began as a lighthearted talk in her life at a time when all actors were bemoaning their “post lockdown weight.”
Huma Qureshi On Her Upcoming Film Double XL
Huma posted a statement on how the idea came about on Instagram. She stated, “What began as a lighthearted discussion with my closest friends and family—Sonakshi, Zaheer, Saqib, and Mudassar—literally in my living room, led to the creation of this movie. The actors were all complaining about the “post lockdown weight” we had gained, and Mudassar improvised a plot around it.
As we continued on our trip, this story gained more and more collaborators as well as friends in the ensuing months. This movie was lovingly crafted and scripted.”
After then, Huma Qureshi thanked everyone for helping to make the “Double XL” dream come true.
‘This film is for everyone who dares to dream BIG!!!’ said Huma in her closing statement.
Both actresses endured significant physical changes for their parts in the slice-of-life social comedy-drama. The film was widely shot in India and the UK. They even put on weight for the roles.
The movie, which also stars Zaheer Iqbal and Mahat Raghavendra, follows the journey of two plus-size ladies. One of them hails from cosmopolitan New Delhi and the other from the rural heartland of Uttar Pradesh.
The movie “Double XL,” which is being produced by Bhushan and Krishan Kumar, Vipul D. Shah, Rajesh Bahl, and Ashwin Varde, Saqib Saleem, Huma Qureshi, and Mudassar Aziz, will debut in theatres on October 14.
