Earlier, Bollywood Hush had updated its avid readers about the first look of the Emergency movie. However, it seems Kangana Ranaut’s most awaited movie has landed in trouble. For the unversed, in the film, Kangana is seen as the former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. The film’s narrative is based on the emergency declared in India between 1975 to 1977. While the movie is still being shot, it has landed in political controversy.
Now, as per the latest report, Congress has reportedly objected to the actress portraying the late Indira Gandhi on the big screen. According to News 18, Madhya Pradesh Congress Media Department vice-president Sangeeta Sharma tagged Kangana a ‘BJP agent’ and stated that Kangana took up the role so as to tarnish the image of Indira Gandhi at the behest of the ruling party.
Sangeeta Sharma has reportedly demanded to watch the film before its release. Reacting to the controversy, state BJP spokesperson Rajpal Singh Sisodia was quoted by IndiaTimes, “Emergency is a black spot on the country’s democracy and Indira Gandhi was the heroine during it, and hence they need not worry.”
