Shashank Vyas & Avinash Mukherjee Words For Surekha Sikri

Actor Shashank Vyas joined “Balika Vadhu” when it took a jump, making it one of the longest-running series on television. According to the actor who played grown-up Jagdish aka Jagya, Surekha Ji was a classic and an institution of acting.

“Surekha Ji was a true institution in her own right. She was a legend, a natural performer. Surekha Ji was full of life and optimism and who lived her life on her terms. Maybe I did something excellent in my life because I was allowed to work with her. While working on the program with her for five years, I learned a lot,” he adds.

Avinash Mukherjee, who played young Jagya in the program, expressed similar sentiments, saying Surekha was an exceptional performer who he admired for her honesty and devotion to her work.

“I remember Surekha Ji for her discipline the most. I recall her never reading the script in English since the pronunciations of some terms varied. So she would arrive on the set every morning, lock her door, and write every single dialogue in Hindi. She would then read. That’s something she taught me, and it’s something I still do,” Avinash adds.

Avinash and Shashank, claim that simply seeing Surekha taught them a lot.

Surekha Ji’s death has left a void in the worlds of art and cinema that may never be replaced. As Shashank and Avinash states her art and work will continue to inspire generations of performers. Stay tuned for latest Hindi tv serial gossip only on bollywoodhush.com.
