Kamal Haasan’s daughter, Shruti Haasan, speaks about her journey. She is one of those few actresses who never shy away from speaking the truth about reality. She has proved to be upfront about her journey by sharing about the plastic surgery that she went through. She has also shared her views on beauty standards.
Talking about her views on the same, the actress said that there were times when she used to pay heed to the pressure by society. Reportedly, she also mentioned that her nose surgery was her choice. Since, her nose was broken, she didn’t like its appearance. She mentioned, she was not asked by anyone to get it fixed.
She expressed about how much tantrums she had to listen. She was told that her face is very sharp and looks extremely masculine. She further said, “If there are any actresses telling you they haven’t done it, they are blatantly lying because people’s faces don’t change that much. But it’s just something that I wanted to talk about. I don’t propagate it. What I’m trying to say is… It could be something from colouring your hair, like women who are Indian who feel they need to bleach their skin or dye their hair blonde or wear blue contact lenses…It’s the same thing, right?” Shruti added, “You don’t need to fit into anything, you do what you have to do. If a woman in her 40s feels she wants Botox because it makes her feel better, that’s her choice and if she feels that this is not what she wants, that is her choice too. I felt I should be honest about my journey.”
Shruti’s views on the matter should be taken as an inspiration. Earlier this year, she shared a picture of hers in which a part of the caption read, “yes, I’ve had plastic surgery which I’m not ashamed to admit. Do I promote it? No. Am I against it? No. It’s just how I choose to live.”
