On the work front, Shreya was recently in the news because of her latest single Angana Morey. The song has been topping the charts ever since its release. Talking about how she got the inspiration for the song, she told The Hindu that the song was born when she was feeling absolutely uninspired. She called the song ‘Angana Morey’ ‘a boat that kept her afloat’ in the times of lockdown.
She added, “Usually, as a singer, my participation in a song comes in the second phase, once the tune and lyrics are set. With ‘Angana Morey’, which I composed, wrote and sang, I got to experience a part of the creation process. The music production, done by my brother Soumyadeep Ghoshal, was done around my improvisations.”
The singer also shared that she has travelled the world, heard the music from different countries, but she feels the melodic richness of Indian music is unparalleled.
