August 11, 2020, marked a very sad for fans, friends and family of Sanjay Dutt as he had announced a break due to medical treatment. This came after he was admitted to Kokilaben Hospital due to breathing problem and discomfort in the chest. The actor did not reveal much about his health then but trade analyst and film industry insider Komal Nahata confirmed the sad news of actor diagnosed for stage four lung cancer. After two months to this news, Sanjay Dutt confirmed that he was battling cancer. He also shared that he has come out victorious. However, it was only a 50-50 per cent chance of his recovery. This has now been revealed by Dutt as she mentions what doctors had told him then.

“When the news was broken, there was a lot of anger inside me and I wondered why me. People take a lot of time to decide how they want to take their treatment further but I had to make a decision quickly because I felt that I didn’t have much time. So I accepted my illness and once I did, I thought I’ll fight the cancer no matter what. When I came to meet Dr Sewanti Limaye for the first time, it was with this mindset,” Sanjay Dutt said his experience of dealing with cancer during a virtual press conference of Cancer Up to Date: Cancer Care Advances in a COVID-19 Reality held on World Cancer Day 2021.
He added, “There was a time when they told me that it’s a 50-50 per cent chance and I want you to be fifty per cent on the positive side of the border. That sentence made a lot of difference to me. It was then that I decided to make sure that I’ll always be on the brighter side no matter what I have to go through.”
His doctor also said that when he comes with his family for the treatment his aura seemed peaceful.
