Neena Gupta, a Bollywood actress, has written her autobiography, “Sach Kahun Toh,” which details her journey from the National School of Drama (NSD) to relocating to Mumbai in the 1980s and raising her daughter Masaba Gupta as a single mother. 1. Neena Gupta’s first marriage lasted for a year
The Badhaai Ho actress confessed in her book that she was married briefly when she was very young. She met Amlan Kusum Ghose, an IIT student while earning her master’s degree in Sanskrit. Their romance was uncovered after Neena’s buddy informed her parents about their secret meetings on his campus and near her home.
However, this did not dissuade the pair, and they married to travel to Srinagar.
Their marriage joy, however, did not last long. “We never quarreled much during the brief period Amlan and I were married,” Neena writes. Not about our daily life, how we ran our home, or my education and work. We were both quite young when we married, but I don’t have anything negative to say about him to this day.” After a year of marriage, the couple divorced.
2. Satish Kaushik offered to marry Neena Gupta
Neena Gupta had a connection with former cricketer Sir Viv Richards in the 1980s. When she found out she was pregnant, her close friend Satish Kaushik proposed to her and urged her to convince everyone that the kid was his. “Don’t worry, if the child is born with dark skin, you can just say it’s mine and we’ll marry,” he assured her. 3. Neena’s marriage was called off at the last minute
Neena Gupta was set to marry the guy she adored, but he called off their engagement only days before the wedding. “I was in Delhi getting my clothing made when he called and told me, ‘I don’t want to marry you.’ I’m still not sure why, but what can I do? I went on with my life. He was someone I would have liked to marry. I felt a great deal of respect for his father and mother because I was living with them. He’ll read, he’ll live, and he’ll be happily married. “He’s a father,” the actor said.
4. Neena Gupta always wanted to have a normal family
The Badhai Ho Actress admits to being envious of those with “regular” families. “A regular spouse, children, and in-laws, was all that I always wanted” she remarked at the book launch. I become a little jealous when I see other individuals and didn’t blame myself; Didn’t become an alcoholic because what I wanted was not received.” In addition, the actor stated that if her parents were still living, she would not have published the book. “No one knew who my father and mother were. If they were still living, I would not have written this. My mum has worked so hard to conceal this,” she continued.
5. How Masaba Gupta saved Neena Gupta’s life
Neena Gupta recounted her terrible experience on the sets of Sanjay Khan’s series The Sword of Tipu Sultan in a live Instagram session with Kareena Kapoor Khan, who launched Sach Kahun Toh.
“It was a horrible experience,” she said. They (the filmmakers) were working on a scenario for my wedding. Masaba was one and a half years old at the time. Masaba had a little fever that day. As a result, I didn’t bring her to the sets. However, later that afternoon, I returned my car and drove her to the shoot. I was feeding her in between shots at the time. And I slipped out of the studio unnoticed. I arrived in my room. When I scooped up Masaba, I heard a loud bang. When I emerged, I noticed a lightman approaching me.
He was ablaze. I had my gaze fixed on him. He requested my assistance. ‘How can I help when I have a child with me,’ I recall saying. They led me to the main building, where our office was located. We were sent back to our homes. It had been much too terrible. Even today, when I consider it, I’m not sure how I was saved.”
