In an interview with a prominent newspaper, Urvashi Dholakia said, “As much as I enjoy the work that I have done, I also believe that there is a certain stereotyping that has happened. Somewhere along the line, people cease perceiving you as anything other than the role you’re portraying. It’s time for folks to see my other sides now that I’m no longer a sari-clad vamp. There have been several offers, but I’d want to do something I haven’t done before. I don’t mind portraying a negative or grey-skinned character, but it needs to be something different than what I’ve done before.”

“Times have changed, and I’m learning to play a part that becomes iconic again. The medium may be any—television, OTT, or cinema.” The most essential thing is that there must be a spark capable of lighting up the screen,” she continued.

Urvashi made her acting debut in Shrikant, a Doordarshan serial in which she played Rajlaxmi. She also played Shilpa in Dekh Bhai Dekh. Her portrayal of Komolika in Kasautii Zindagii Kay made her a household name. In addition, the actress also appeared in Waqt Ki Raftar, Ghar Ek Mandir, Kabhii Sautan Kabhii Sahelii, and Kahiin To Hoga.

She was a contestant on Colors TV’s Bigg Boss 6 in 2012, and she won. She also played Queen Iravati in the Chandrakanta television series.

Urvashi Dholakia married at the age of 16 and gave birth to twin sons, Sagar and Kshitij, at the age of 17. As a single mother, she has raised them.

She told a prominent newspaper earlier this year, “My children and relatives want me to settle down. I haven’t given it any thought yet (laughs). My children frequently beg me to marry or date someone. Every time I am confronted with such questions, I usually laugh them off. “Kya sochu main, not that ki mera time chala gaya hai (what should I think, I’m not old). I can’t overthink things past a certain point,” says the famous actress.
