Monalisa aka Antara Biswas has returned to Star Plus in her Dayan avatar for the Ankahee Daastaan serial. Given Nazar’s wrath, this appears to be a lovely, sweet gift for the show’s fans. On Indian television, supernatural content has always had an audience, and with the actress’s return, along with Harsh Rajput and Niyati, there’s only so much more in store for the public. Here’s what Monalisa has to say about her character in Star Plus Ankahee Daastaan.
The channel has brought back a number of its popular shows under a one-of-a-kind idea. What are your thoughts about it?
Well, I believe that is a once-in-a-lifetime occurrence. Our show was a hit with everyone – kids, ladies, and people of all ages. Kids used to love it so much that they still ask me where my lambi choti is whenever or wherever I go. As a result, the audience was tremendously engaged, and they adored the ‘Dayan’… Although my character was a negative one… and admirers continue to inquire about Nazar’s arrival. So, to keep our fans happy, Star Plus Channel has created “Ankahee Dastaan,” a show that would run the hit series that they miss the most (again).
How did it feel to return to your character after such a long time?
I missed my Dayaan kirdaar (Character), my lambi choti, colored eyes, those murderous stares, the way I used to walk, talk, climb up the tree, jump from here to there, crawl up the wall… The part where you’re wearing a harness and fighting, and you’re bothering the family… It’s like a dream come true to be back… my dancing sequences, my bathtub sequences… I believe it was everyone’s manifestation that drew us back… audience adoration… It’s fantastic… And this time I’m stronger… While engaging in khatarnaak activities… It’ll be a huge hit with the public… I’m looking forward to this comeback…
What about filming for the show brought back memories for you, and what did you miss the most?
Yes, we finally met after almost two years… We were both missing each other a lot. But it’s lovely to be back with the same crew and co-stars. We’re having as much fun on set as we were before. We’ve taken a lot of shots, and we all have lunch together with healthy gossips, but the thing I miss the most is our dance videos, as Niyati (Pia) and I both enjoy dancing. We used to take breaks during shoots to make videos every time a new hit song came out, and everyone loved them. We’re on again this time, and our dance video will be out soon.
