Kangana Ranaut makes it to the headlines very often because of her opinionated personality. The actress was caught up in a war of words with Maharashtra’s ruling government Shiv Sena and as a result her Mumbai’s bungalow was demolished illegally. Now to this, Bombay High Court on Friday quashed the BMC’s demolition notice and subsequent action to undertake partial demolition at her Bandra bungalow in September. In addition, it also ordered BMC to give a suitable compensation to the actress. Clearly, Kangana is elated with HC ordering BMC to compensate for her bungalow’s loss.
Kangana Ranaut Rejoices as HC Orders BMC To Compensate for Demolishing Actress’ Bungalow:
She wrote on Twitter, “When individual stands against the government and wins, it’s not the victory of the individual but it’s the victory of the democracy.” It further read, “Thank you everyone who gave me courage and thanks to those who laughed at my broken dreams. Its only cause you play a villain so I can be a HERO.”
A Division Bench comprising Justices SJ Kathawalla and RI Chagla said that Kangana can get her property regularised and make it habitable. The court also said that if Ranaut files an application of getting her building plans approved then it would be decided in 4 weeks. It has also appointed a valuer to decide on the compensation amount. As per the court, the BMC proceeded on “wrongful grounds.” In addition, the case was against the citizens’ rights, a malice in law and reactionary in nature.
The demolition by the BMC team took place on September 9. This had raised questions on the ruling government of the state and it became a political topic. After which Ranaut moved the Bombay High court to challenge actions of the political party. She also termed it a vendetta.
