Ishita Dutta, who has been in programs such as ‘Bepanah Pyar’ and ‘Ek Ghar Banaunga,’ has been cast as ‘Kajol Mukherjee’ in the upcoming show ‘Thoda Sa Baadal, Thoda Sa Paani.’ She discusses her character, which depicts the lives of a young woman who is going to marry the “ideal one.” Her goals, however, have been destroyed overnight after her father’s death forces her to become the family’s breadwinner.
Ishita Dutta Gets Candid About Her New Role
The actress shares her thoughts on the first time playing a Bengali girl: “I’d never portrayed a Bengali girl before, but ‘Kajol’s’ character, who is very close to her family, gave me the chance to do so. One of ‘Kajol’s’ better attributes is that, while she is simple and kind-hearted, she is not a “bechari.” She is a strong-willed woman who does not hesitate to express her mind. I believe in standing up to injustice, just like she does.”
The 30-year-old actress has attended courses to perfect her on-screen performance. In addition, her holidays in Kolkata aided her in realistically portraying the role.
“I used to go to the city for my vacations. This character brought me back to those days of appreciating the culture and life there. The workshops that were held were another key factor that aided in the preparations. They assisted me in gaining a better understanding of my relationships with my family. All of the players must work together as a team. We did a prop-up shoot during our first meeting with the director to establish chemistry. So it all worked out to be a huge assist in getting into the persona of ‘Kajol,” she remarked.
Ishita is a pretty basic person, which is why she gets along so well with her on-screen alter ego. “As a person, I believe I am quite similar to ‘Kajol’ since I am also really close to my parents and sister,” she continued.
COLORS will premiere ‘Thoda Sa Baadal, Thoda Sa Paani’ on August 23.
