Zohaeb Farooqui, who is poised to make his acting debut in the online series Inspector Avinash, helmed by Neeraj Pathak, is looking forward to his debut. He is the nephew of filmmaker Subhash Ghai, and his father Raju Farooqui works as a producer for Mukta Arts, but Zohaeb says his family expects him to forge his path in the profession via hard work and skill.
“Like any other youngster, I had a happy and carefree upbringing. My father, Raju Farooqui, works as a producer for Mukta Arts, and Subhash Ghai is my uncle. Despite coming from a filmmaking family, I had an ordinary upbringing,” he adds.
Zohaeb’s uncle has encouraged him to pursue acting as a career. “He pushed me to pursue a career in acting. He advised me to never give up and to work hard enough to achieve my goals. It’s not just about achieving success; it’s also about maintaining it,” says the rookie, whose favorite Subhash Ghai film is Pardes. He enjoys both the narrative and the lovely music. The film features Shah Rukh Khan and Mahima Chaudhry.
When asked if he visited any of the filmmaker’s huge sets as a youngster, he replied saying, “Yes, I have seen several of his sets quite a lot of times. I can’t recall any specific or notable events that occurred at the time. But I recall hanging around with friends, playing games, and drinking Pepsi / Cola.”
He continued saying, “All does not glitter here. Having grown up in the profession and giving his impressions of the place and what his father told him. To make it big, you’ll have to put in a lot of effort. It’s a lovely creative business, and many people’s aspirations are entwined with it. However, there is more to it than meets the eye. My father urged me not to squander the time and money of producers when I chose to leap. He advised me to work hard at my skill while being humble.”
