Geeta Basra is a well-known name in the entertainment industry. Last month, the actress and her husband Harbhajan Singh welcomed their first child, Jovan. Before giving birth to Jovan, the actress went through a tough time. In an interview, Geeta Basra opened up on her two miscarriages in the last two years.
Geeta Basra Suffered Two Miscarriages
Geeta stated in an interview that she had two miscarriages in the previous two years, one in 2019 and the other last year. Her husband Harbhajan Singh traveled down from Punjab to be at her side the first time, and they were together through her second miscarriage because of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Geeta advised women who had had miscarriages not to lose hope and to endure in silence hoping for a child. In an interview with a prominent newspaper, Geeta said, “The previous two years have undoubtedly been stressful for me, but I have managed to keep myself from breaking down. Following a miscarriage, a woman’s hormones fluctuate dramatically, making it difficult for her to retain her composure. I stayed tough and didn’t allow myself to have a meltdown.”
Geeta and Harbhajan moved with their parents for a while after suffering a second miscarriage. When she became pregnant again, she was at her in-law’s house and took every precaution. “I decided to take it easy throughout the first trimester. I did nothing but take my vitamins and wait for the first three months to pass. We then traveled to Mumbai, where I began practicing yoga. That was beneficial to me. Long projects in the third trimester were unavoidable. My gut feeling told me that everything would be fine this time. By the grace of God, it did,” she remarked.
On July 10, the couple welcomed their second child, Jovan Veer Singh Plaha. Hinaya Heer Plaha, the couple’s first daughter, was born in 2016.
