Manoj Bajpayee Directed Sakshi Tanwar In Her Debut Show!
Tanwar said in an exclusive interview that the film’s main draw was Neena Gupta, with whom she had the most screen time. “She is someone I have admired for a long time. Apart from being a fantastic actress, I discovered throughout filming that she is a beautiful, kind person. It might have been difficult because we primarily filmed at night, but with her, it became such a fun experience. She was bright and entertaining, and we could connect and chat about a wide range of topics. We’d sing together, and I’d keep inquiring about her earlier work, which I like. I couldn’t have hoped for more because I got to work with both Neena Ji and Manoj sir,” the Bade Achhe Lagte Hain actress said.
While Sakshi Tanwar and Manoj Bajpayee don’t have a lot of screen time together, she says they’re in some dramatic sequences that she liked working on. The actor went on to explain their three-decade-long friendship, saying that working with Manoj Bajpayee has been a long-time dream. “Not many people know that Manoj sir came to give a session at my institution in Delhi when I was in college. He was, in a sense, my first director, as he collaborated with us on the play Madam, in which I starred. It took me 30 years to share screen space with him,” explained Sakshi.
Sakshi also mentioned the increase of female-driven stories in films and web shows. “Women have dominated television for many many years. This was lacking on a larger screen, but as digital platforms become more prevalent, more options emerge. Everyone, not just women, can play a bigger role.”
Sakshi Tanwar also has Anushka Sharma’s Netflix series, Mai in her bag in the pipeline. Stay tuned for latest Bollywood news only on bollywoodhush.com
