Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Heeramandi To Premiere On Netflix
Heeramandi’s cast and crew are yet to be revealed. The show will focus on courtesan legends and the secret cultural realities of Heeramandi, Lahore, in pre-independence India. According to the creators, the series is about love, treachery, succession, and politics. The filmmaker is presently awaiting the release of Gangubai Kathiawadi, a film starring Alia Bhatt.
Sanjay Leela Bhansali remarked in a press release about Heeramandi, “Heeramandi is a significant milestone in my career as a filmmaker. This is an enormous, first-of-its-kind series about Lahore’s courtesans. It’s an ambitious, vast, and all-encompassing series, so I’m both frightened and thrilled to put it together. I’m looking forward to collaborating with Netflix and delivering Heeramandi to a global audience.”

Netflix On SLB’s 25 Years In Showbiz
On Monday, Netflix India tweeted a lengthy statement commemorating Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s 25 years in the Hindi film business. “An intricately detailed space, a new but familiar tune playing in the background, faces so bright they could make the sun look dull, a crescendo of a timeless tale that leaves you wanting to stay in this dream; all of this, created by the dreamer, the cultural storehouse; who’d have us, and everyone around us, wondering ‘How did he pull THAT off?’ No points for guessing the name.”
“The four-year-old who went on set and never left, the thirty-year-old who set out to dream bigger-than-life, and the man who now lives by his 25-year-old legacy of exalted filmmaking has always left us spellbound. The mastery with which his films move through time and take us on a journey to places we’ve never seen before has always left us spellbound.
We’ve all heard Laal Ishq playing in the background while gushing over someone we love, pretended to be at war while fighting with our siblings over the remote control, and awoken in a castle with pink, purple, and yellow-tinted glasses… “I’ve finally woken up to reality,” the message said.
Words aren't enough to explain how excited we are that Sanjay Leela Bhansali is partnering with us for this epic Netflix Original series but these emojis come pretty close 🤯😮🌟🎊🎉💥🤸🔥🥳🙌💯🥺👀🤩#Heeramandi #SLB #Netflix @bhansali_produc
