Lately, the news of drugs & what not news has been trending in the headlines. As an aftermath of Sushant Singh Rajput’s death case, Bollywood Drug Case has been thoroughly investigated by the NCB. However, few media channels took plenty of advantage of the latest investigation on Bollywood. Republic TV & Times Now sued by Bollywood filmmakers is the latest update to the series of legal cases in Bollywood.
The top two news channels on Television Republic TV & Times Now sued by Bollywood filmmakers on 12th October 2020. A lawsuit has been filed in the Delhi High Court against “irresponsible reporting by certain media houses,” in the latest fallout of the Sushant Singh Rajput investigation. The lawsuit is filed by some of the bigwigs of the Bollywood industry. The names include Aamir Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgn, Karan Johar, Aditya Chopra, and Farhan Akhtar. These Bollywood celebrities have come together against the media.
Republic TV & Times Now sued by Bollywood filmmakers:
The suit has been filed against Republic TV, and Arnab Goswami and Pradeep Bhandari of the channel; and Times Now and its top faces Rahul Shivshankar and Navika Kumar. The channels used “highly derogatory words and expressions for Bollywood,” said the producers, listing terms like “dirt,” “filth,” “scum,” and “druggies” used over the past few months. The producers also are upset about the channels using provocative expressions like — “It is Bollywood where the dirt needs to be cleaned”; “All the perfumes of Arabia cannot take away the stench and the stink of this filth and scum of the underbelly of Bollywood”; “This is the dirtiest industry in the country”; and “Cocaine and LSD-drenched Bollywood.”
