Kriti Sanon’s Mimi leaked online
The pirated version of Kriti Sanon’s film “Mimi” was leaked on several internet sites just four days before its official release. Despite the lack of formal confirmation from the film’s producers, sources close to the producers claim that the film has been pirated and that the filmmakers are considering legal action. The film’s first copies were distributed via a chat-based app.
It’s worth recalling that Salman Khan’s film “Radhe” was also subjected to internet piracy. A police report was made in the matter, and a few suspects were apprehended. Three people were charged with attempting to sell copies of ‘Radhe’ for Rs 50 on various internet sites.
Piracy has been a threat to the film business for a long time, and many analyses have shown that OTT releases of films are more vulnerable to piracy, necessitating the implementation of strict legislation. With digital distribution, films lose a significant amount of money to piracy; in certain cases, the loss may be as high as 60%.
Laxman Utekar directed the film, which also stars Sai Tamhankar, Supriya Pathak, and Manoj Pahwa. Mimi’s trailer was released on July 13th. The film follows Mimi, played by Kriti, as she agrees to become a surrogate for a foreign couple. Later the couple decides that they do not want the kid.
Mimi is based on the 2011 Marathi film Mala Aai Vhhaychy! The film received the National Film Award for Best Feature Film. In Telugu, it was recreated as Welcome Obama, which was released in 2013.
