Actress Kajal Aggarwal has wrapped filming on her forthcoming film, ‘Uma.’ Uma, directed by Tathagata Singha and produced by Avishek Ghosh (AVMA Media) and Mantraraj Paliwal, is billed as a slice-of-life film (Miraj Group). Working on “Uma” was one of the most memorable experiences for the 36-year-old actor, who primarily works in the south and has starred in Bollywood films such as “Singham” and “Special 26.”
“I’ve had a fantastic time working on ‘Uma. My director and all the artists and technicians were wonderful. Certain personalities simply stick with you, and ‘Uma’ is going to leave me with a big, gorgeous hangover!” Kajal remarked.
The film is set in an aristocratic mansion with a wedding backdrop where the entire family gathers, according to the official synopsis. With the entrance of a stranger, Uma, the drama unfolds via the varied people in the home.
Beginning in July in Kolkata, the team filmed the film from start to finish while adhering to the COVID-19 procedures.
Kajal is believed to be portraying a character that is akin to Mary Poppins in the film. It is billed as a fantasy feel-good flick. “I recently signed Uma. It’s a Mary Poppins kind of film, where fantasy meets reality. I play the title role of Uma, which I am currently preparing for. I keep having a lot of Zoom discussions with my director to understand how he envisions the character. Uma is a ray of sunshine and helps people deal with their problems,” Kajal Aggarwal told The New Indian Express about the film.
