Indian cinema industry analyses to come-back after the lockdown

Bollywood

The pandemic Covid-19 is gradually increasing all over. All the industries in the world are facing issues and losses directly or indirectly due to Coronavirus. As India is the entertainment obsessed nation, the cinema industry is an evident case of the hit. The lockdown still has some time to be lifted away in India. Multiplexes and single screens are already looking ahead. Strategizing to ensure footfalls do not dip once the business is back. Indian cinema industry analyses to make a come-back after lockdown.

Indian cinema industry analyses to come-back after lockdown:

Besides the provision of masks and ready thermometers at the cineplexes lesser shows, cross allocation of seating inside theatres, possible limiting of the number of tickets sold per show, and ensuring there is no crowd in the lobbies are a few musts that cinema chains hope to implement.

Alok Tandon, CEO, INOX Leisure limited in an interview said, “We will have to innovate and think differently to ensure social distancing, once the cinemas are back in operation. Cross-allocation of seats is one measure, which would allow us to ensure that two guests are not assigned adjacent seats. Other measures can be to program shows in a manner that intermissions of two shows do not occur simultaneously. This will help us to ensure that the food counters and restrooms do not get too crowded. We may even consider limiting the overall seat allocation for some shows, to control overcrowding. We will ensure that we maintain appropriate distances even at the entrance security checks.”

The assurance of everything getting back to normal is still not soon is still a far-fetched thought for the cinema industry. The most important thing for the multiplex business is to create an atmosphere of assurance for audiences to flock back without fear when the pandemic slows down. Social distancing through a rightly-spaced seating arrangement would seem like a given, but there are other aspects to be taken care of.

The cinemas and multiplexes of India are pulling their socks up for the next war after coronavirus. One that will secure the win back the confidence of the people once this foul air blows.
