Bollywood News & Gossip | One of the most popular Bollywood romantic films of all time is Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol, and Rani Mukerji appeared in the film. It is now widely known that, while Karan Johar was adamant about casting SRK as the male protagonist, he offered the role of Tina to several females. Twinkle Khanna was the first actress he wanted to hire, but she declined.
According to reports, Karan had approached Urmila Matondkar, Tabu, Shilpa Shetty, Raveena Tandon, Karisma Kapoor, and Aishwarya Rai. They all, though, denied it. Years later, the Jazbaa actress Aishwarya Rai explained why she didn’t want to perform Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. If she had consented, the actress said she would have been lynched.
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan remarked in an interview with Filmfare about the scenario, “Actually, I’m in a Catch-22 scenario. Even though I am a novice, I am compared to all of the senior actresses.” She then went on to say, “‘Look, Aishwarya Rai is back to doing what she did in her modeling days—leaving her hair straight, wearing minis, and pouting glamorously into the camera,’ it would have been tittered if I’d done the film. In the end, the hero returns to the more true person. I know I would have been lynched if I had done Kuch Kuch Hota Hai.”
Years later, at an event, Karan stated that after rejecting Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, the Guru actress was the only one who phoned him back. “Ash was the only one that called me back politely,” Karan explained.
Later, Karan reunited with Aishwarya in the film Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, which also starred Anushka Sharma and Ranbir Kapoor. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s next project is a period drama film directed by Mani Ratnam. Vikram, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Trisha, and Jayaram act in the lead roles. Prabhu, Vikram Prabhu, Aishwarya Lekshmi, and Sobhita Dhulipala will provide support.
Karan Johar, on the other hand, is working on Dostana 2, Brahmastra, and Liger.
